Sea Kayaking Jersey

Earlier in the year I met Kevin and Nicky Mansell from Jersey Canoe Club. Whilst we were washing patatas bravas down with San Miguel after hot day of sea kayaking on the Costa Brava. They invited me and a few friends to paddle with them around their back waters.

We assembled a team of nine paddlers from Manchester Canoe Club and flew out to the Channel Islands on a Thursday in Mid-September. Kevin and Nicky met us at the airport and showed us to a pleasant campsite close to the Jersey Canoe Club Base on the East side of the Island.

Changes to Club Membership - we need your vote!

Following a review of our membership and how it is administered, we have found that the role of the membership secretary is a very onerous task, which is mainly due to all the varied start dates of Club member’s memberships.  We are therefore looking at having a single membership start date of 1st January for all members.

Winter Wednesdays

Now that the nights are drawing in we're putting together a series of social evenings at the club house called 'Winter Wednesdays'. The idea is to have an informal midweek get together, watch a canoe / kayak movie, slideshow or simply tell a few stories around the woodburning stove. Get down to the club house between 7.30 and 8pm.

Ian Pendleton

We are very saddened to hear of the death of Ian Pendleton, who was a member of Manchester Canoe Club for over 50 years. Ian passed away on 17th July, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
