I'm looking for a 2nd hand boat to gain moving water confidence and experience. I appear to be spoilt for choice, but that's the problem and I don't want to blunder into anything ridiculous.
I went on the last Roman Lakes to Marple trip in an inazone which I liked, but I wonder if a more stable river runner type boat may give me more confidence. There are a couple of H3's for sale at the moment, has anyone any experience of these, are they suitable for learning in?
No playboat ability is req'd in the boat as my main aim is to comfortably negotiate hazards the right way up .....
Any advice, besides taking up knitting, greatly appreciated,
Paul

Hi Paul
The advice on a best boat will be endless as there are so many types of boat and so many opinions as to what is best.

My opinion would be the Inazone is a very good first boat to learn in or a Dagger GT or a Perception Sonic at he moment there is a GTX and a Supersonic for sale in the club both in good condition.
Depending on your size they may be to big.

The GT has sharp edges for carving but low back deck which could catch water on it if you lean back in rough water and could trip you up.
The Sonic has more volume and rounder edges ideal for learning, less chance of falling in (may be).

The best thing is to try a few boats like the Inazone / GT / Sonic and see what you feel most comfortable and stable in.

Good luck
Clive :)

Thanks clive, I am now the proud owner of a H2 (well I will be when I pay), I was too light for all the other boats for sale at the club.
:D
