Five of the Tuesday night improvers group were able to make it along for some coaching on a trip down the Dee from Horseshoe falls to Mile End Mill (aka JJ's). There were ideal conditions for running this section with this group: sunny, warm and low water making it a grade 2 run with one grade 3 squeeze above JJ’s. They had a warm up above the horseshoe weir before trying to boof it (or pencil it). We were able to look at using river signals, ferry gliding down rapids, crossing eddy lines and picking a line on a rapid. Walked around Serpent’s tail (3) and then played ‘Raft Dodge’ at JJ’s. All seemed to find it useful to get on some easy stuff to practice their growing toolbox of strokes and techniques.
Thanks to: Keith, Katie, Sheila, Ollie, Ian for getting stuck in and to Carl and Pete for helping with safety cover.

Thanks to Kevin Beattie for running the trip and this report. If anyone else has any trip reports please let us know about them - by email, on the forum or in person (on paper please - no poems, songs or long monologues).
