- Written by Michael Stringer
The club is running a number of training courses for the benefit of members who wish to improve their skills. Read on for more details.
2* Kayak Training & Assessment
The club is running 2* Kayak training on 18th June and an assessment later in the year for MCC members. Course details can be found on the British Canoeing site and you can book via WebCollect (note that you will need to be logged into WebCollect to see the course).
Introduction to Moving Water
The club is also running a course for members who want to develop their moving water skills. This is intended for paddlers who want to start paddling on more challenging water than the club site and includes basics of river safety, moving around in a moving environment, reading river features and taking part in river trips.
This is a two-day course on 27th & 28th May that will take place within driving distance of the club-site and is open to MCC members over 18. The course is not part of the British Canoeing Star Awards scheme but is taught by a fully qualified coach and acts as a stepping stone towards 3*.
Bookings are again available via WebCollect.
